Summer Fiddle Camp 2022

Dates – Sunday 14th – Tuesday 16th August, Maryhill Burgh Halls 
9.30 am – 3 pm 
Fee – £225                                                                                                                                     
Our 2nd annual Summer Fiddle Camp! Over the course of the 3 days children will learn a variety of traditional tunes and techniques as well as enjoy fun musicianship games every day culminating in a special performance and courtyard ceilidh for families. Led by Celine Donoghue and Graham Rorie two of Scotland’s most highly regarded traditional musicians and tutors, there will be options for beginner pupils as well as pupils who have been playing for longer. Our Fiddle Camp is suitable for young string players of all ages and abilities aged 6 years and up and is open to existing Glasgow Children’s Music School pupils as well as those learning elsewhere. Two days options available.

 

Summer Piano Camp                                                                                                                 
Tutor – Julia McDonald 
Dates – Monday 4th July – Wednesday 6th July, Maryhill Burgh Halls 
Morning session 9.30 am – 12 pm 
Afternoon session 1 – 3.30 pm 
Both 9.30 am – 3.30 pm
Fee – Mornings or Afternoons only – £120 / Full days – £225                                                                                      
Piano Camp will be a way for young pianists to work and play together!  Students will learn how to improvise together and how to accompany others, along with developing their rhythm and aural skills. Led by Glasgow Children’s Music Schools own Julia McDonald, this camp is suitable for young pianists that have had at least 6 months of lessons aged 6 years and up and is open to existing GCMS pupils as well as those learning elsewhere.   
                                             
Spaces at each camp are limited and are offered on a first come-first served basis. Please note due to the nature of the instrument,  Piano Camps are limited to just 8 children per camp.

NEW SATURDAY FAMILY CLASS - Starts this weekend, 20th April, Maryhill Burgh Halls 🎶🥁😃The class is suitable for the whole family although is primarily aimed at children aged 12 months - 3 years. It is also recommended for 3 and 4 year olds who prefer to attend a class with their grown-up. Together we will enjoy lots of songs, rhymes, and lullabies for gentle knee bouncing, rocking, swaying, cuddling and tickling. Older toddlers and children learn circle songs and enjoy plenty of movement based activities. NEW TUTOR - Andrew Neill, Piano We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Neill who joins our teaching team as a Piano tutor! Andrew is a recent graduate of the BMus (Hons) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has experience in both piano solo and accompaniment, performing different genres from classical, jazz and musical theatre.
