Guitar Lessons

The guitar is a popular choice for young beginners because it is a fun and relatively inexpensive first instrument. We offer individual (1:1) and shared (2:1) guitar lessons. Children are taught different guitar techniques including strumming and chords as well as how to read tab and from a musical stave. Children also learn aural skills, including playing by ear, simple improvisation and ensemble and performance skills. For pupils who wish to do so, there is the option to sit exams through ABRSM. Trial lessons available on request.

📣NEW TUTOR POST! We are delighted to welcome Georgiana Grecu to our teaching team! Georgiana will be teaching our new beginners group guitar class on Saturday mornings at Maryhill Burgh Halls as well as 1:1 guitar/ piano lessons. Georgiana is currently in 3rd year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studies Performance in piano and guitar. She engages in numerous performances and projects as a soloist and chamber musician including founding her own guitar quartet group which performs her own compositions. Georgiana’s teaching experience includes teaching group guitar classes at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh for children aged 5 to 12 years as well as teaching group and 1:1 piano lessons.
