Preschool and Primary 1

Preschool and Primary 1

Our music classes for preschool children and children in Primary 1 are designed to offer a fun, yet structured introduction to the key musical concepts of pulse, rhythm and pitch. Children enjoy lots of songs, rhymes, circle and partner games and are taught to read and write simple rhythmic notation and use solfa handsigns (do-re-mi etc) in preparation for learning a musical instrument. Flash cards, whiteboards and a variety of hand held percussion are used to help develop the children’s skills in singing, playing, reading and writing music

Our Saturday preschool class showed excellent listening, concentration and solo singing skills today as we explored the items inside the pirate treasure chest! We also found a caterpillar in our rhymetime box, visited musicland, climbed an apple tree and listened to a story about Mummy and Baby Bear who made a delicious apple pie for dinner! The children are being introduced to crotchet and paired quaver notation through our storyboard. Phew...what a busy morning! 🐻 🎶 🏴‍☠️ ... See MoreSee Less
